CotranslatorAI is displaying an “Access to the path… OneDrive” error.2026-03-07T07:54:05+00:00

This error is usually caused by Windows Defender’s Ransomware Protection, which may block CotranslatorAI from accessing files in your Documents folder or your OneDrive folder. To fix this, you do not need to disable Windows Defender entirely. You can allow CotranslatorAI through Windows Defender by following these steps:

1. Open Windows Security (search for “Windows Security” in the Start menu).
2. Go to “Virus & threat protection”.
3. Scroll down and select “Ransomware protection”.
4. Click on “Manage ransomware protection”.
5. Under “Controlled folder access”, select “Allow an app through Controlled folder access”.
6. Click “Add an allowed app” and then choose “Browse all apps”.
7. Find CotranslatorAI’s .exe file on your computer and select it.

After these steps, CotranslatorAI should be able to access the necessary files without errors.

The CotranslatorAI keyboard shortcuts are not working or are working unexpectedly.2026-03-08T10:05:43+00:00
First, make sure the CotranslatorAI Companion app is running in your Windows system tray. For full details, refer to Section 1-5-1 of The CotranslatorAI Guide at https://cotranslatorai.com/documentation/

If that doesn’t solve the problem, it may be due to a keyboard shortcut conflict with another program on your computer. Sometimes, other applications use similar or overlapping shortcuts, which can either prevent CotranslatorAI keyboard shortcuts from working or cause CotranslatorAI actions to be triggered unintentionally. Try changing the CotranslatorAI keyboard shortcuts (under Tools > Keyboard Shortcuts) to combinations that do not conflict with other programs.
I have just installed CotranslatorAI and a message is telling me to install or update .NET.2026-03-06T06:51:31+00:00
Please follow the instructions to download and install .NET Desktop Runtime v.6. This will not conflict with .NET Desktop Runtime v.8 or any existing applications which use it, so there is no risk in installing it. Here is the direct link to install .NET Desktop Runtime v.6: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-6.0.36-windows-x64-installer
After I select text and run a keyboard shortcut, a “Selected text is different” warning pops up and/or the text is not being transferred to CotranslatorAI.2026-03-06T07:04:09+00:00

In CotranslatorAI, go to the General tab in the Options window (Tools > Options) and make sure the value for “Clipboard copy timeout when using keyboard shortcuts (milliseconds):” is at least 1,250. If you’re using an older computer, consider increasing the value to 2,000.

CotranslatorAI was working fine but now my connection to the AI seems to be down.2026-03-06T06:56:03+00:00

The AI servers may be temporarily down. Check the API bar on status page at https://status.openai.com/. AI server status is outside our control and if the servers are down, the best solution is simply to wait for them to come back up!
