Hey fellow translators (especially the ones who’ve ever stared at a regex pattern like it was alien code)…
Let me tell you what usually happens.
You try to write a regular expression for something. Maybe a memoQ filter, or some find-and-replace. You guess your way through it… test… it breaks… tweak… still not working… spend another 20 minutes fiddling with it… finally give up.
I’ve been there too. Even with my background, regex doesn’t exactly invite joy.
That’s why I wrote a CotranslatorAI prompt to handle it.
I gave it a simple goal: Just write a working regex that does what I ask. If it’s tricky, explain what it’s doing. Done.
Turns out… it works. In fact, it works shockingly well.
Dave recently brought it up in an AI4LanguageProfessionals post: Re: Using AI to help you write regular expressions (regex).
Apparently, even memoQ gave it a nod during their Regular Expressions webinar. And Dave just shared a modified version of my original prompt that he’s using himself.
If you’re using CotranslatorAI, you can grab it now from the AI4LP Files area. Or better yet…
If you’re not using CotranslatorAI yet, this is a good excuse to change that.
I’m offering a 30-day free trial of CotranslatorAI Advanced — our most powerful edition — plus bonuses to help you learn it and integrate it into your translation workflow fast.
We built this to help translators like us take command of AI and stay ahead of the automation curve. This regex prompt is just one example.
You’ll see how it works in practice, and maybe even surprise yourself.
Download the regex prompt. Try it out. Watch it solve a problem you used to dread.
Then imagine what else this thing can do.
