Two updates today: a new version of CotranslatorAI and an OpenAI change that may require your attention.
What’s new in CotranslatorAI 4.7?
Stanislav has updated the model list, with gpt-6-sol as the new recommended default, and added more reasoning effort options.
You’ll also find easier prompt copying and reuse, a quick font-size reset, and a small “Copied!” confirmation instead of a dialog box.
Best of all, for longer requests, CotranslatorAI now shows the elapsed time and lets you decide whether to wait or cancel, rather than stopping with a 100-second timeout error. This is especially valuable with large prompts and high reasoning efforts using the latest models.
You may have received an email last week about OpenAI phasing out legacy user API keys on October 22, 2026.
If you connected CotranslatorAI to OpenAI more than a year or two ago, you may still be using one. Newer project API keys aren’t affected by this phaseout.
To check, go to Tools > Options > OpenAI API in CotranslatorAI and click View/Update next to API Key. A newer project key starts with sk-proj-. An older user key is much shorter and starts with sk- but not sk-proj-.
Many of you won’t need to change anything. If you do, replacing the key is straightforward. Watch our short video in the same Popular Videos section for the checking and replacement steps: https://cotranslatorai.com/documentation/
